This weekend, Lincoln will come alive with the excitement of the annual Lincoln 10k race, as thousands of runners are set to hit the streets on Sunday, April 12. According to Lincolnshire Live, road closures will be in effect from 5am until 2.30pm to ensure the safety of participants and spectators alike.
In preparation for the event, parking restrictions will begin on Saturday, April 11, at 4pm and will remain in place until 1.30pm on Sunday. Residents and visitors should be aware of the following areas affected by parking suspensions and road closures:
**Parking suspensions from 4pm on Saturday until 1.30pm on Sunday include:** Barkston Gardens, Burton Road, Church Lane, Lenton Green, Longdales Road, Nettleham Road, Newport, Queen Elizabeth Road, Rusholme Road, Minster Yard, Cecil Street, Eastgate, Bailgate, and Greetwell Gate.
**Road closures starting at 5am on Sunday:** Castle Hill, Drury Lane, Exchequer Gate, Minster Yard, Pottergate, Priory Gate, and Riseholme Road.
**Additional closures from 9am:** Aubourn Avenue, Bailgate, Castle Hill/Square Church Lane, Eastgate, Longdales Road, Nettleham Road, Newport, Northgate, Ravendale Drive, and Yarborough Crescent.
**Final closures from 9.40am:** Burton Road, Cabourne Avenue, Laughton Way, Queen Elizabeth Road, and Yarborough Road. The last of the road closures is expected to reopen by 12.30pm, with Priory Gate set to be accessible again by 2.30pm.
