This week, Lincolnshire Live shared heartfelt tributes to 19 individuals who have recently passed away in Lincolnshire, reminding us of the deep connections we share in our community. Each notice serves not just as an announcement but as a celebration of lives well-lived, providing a space for family and friends to remember their loved ones.

Among those remembered was Jackie Kindred, an 83-year-old from Boston, who passed away peacefully at the Pilgrim Hospital on April 3. Jackie was a cherished wife to Alex and a devoted grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of love. Her funeral service is scheduled for April 24 at Boston Crematorium, where family flowers are requested, with donations in her memory going to Marie Curie.

Another tribute was for Beryl Elaine Barratt, who departed on March 24 at the age of 73. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Beryl will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her funeral service will be held on April 20 at Pat Cook Funeral Services in North Hykeham, with donations being collected for St Barnabas Hospice.

Susan Mary (Sue) Battle, aged 81, also left us recently, passing away at home surrounded by family on April 1. A beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Sue's life will be celebrated at St Andrews Church in Potterhanworth on May 28, with bright colours encouraged in her memory. Donations can be made to Dementia UK in lieu of flowers.

In Caistor, Barbara Day, aged 97, passed away peacefully on April 5 at Scunthorpe Hospital. Her family, including two daughters, Joanna and Melanie, expressed their gratitude for the care she received and the support from friends and neighbours. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral service, allowing loved ones to remember her in their own special ways.

Helen E Gillatt, aged 88, passed away suddenly at home on March 5. A beloved mother and grandmother, her funeral service will be held at St Mary's Church in Bloxholm on April 17, with donations requested for the church.

These notices, published from April 11 to April 17, 2026, reflect the love and loss felt throughout Lincolnshire. Each life touched many, and their memories will continue to resonate within our community. The tradition of announcing deaths in local news media serves as an important reminder of the bonds we share and the legacies we carry forward.

As we reflect on these tributes, we invite the community to come together in support of the families and to share their fond memories of those who have passed.

In times of grief, it is the connections we maintain that help us heal and remember those we’ve lost.
