This weekend, Lincoln will be buzzing with excitement as thousands of fans gather to celebrate Lincoln City FC's remarkable promotion and their historic Sky Bet League One title win. According to Lincolnshire Live, an open-top bus parade is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, from 2pm to 4pm. This grand event is organized by the City of Lincoln Council in partnership with ProAmpac, and it promises to be a day filled with joy and community spirit.

The parade will kick off at the bottom of High Street near South Park Parade and the LNER Stadium, winding its way through the heart of the city. Spectators can expect to see the bus travel down Tentercroft Street and St Mary's Street, passing the railway station along the way. The procession will continue along Wigford Way and Silver Street, showcasing iconic landmarks such as The Stonebow, Usher Gallery, and Newport Arch before concluding on Riseholme Road, near The Lincoln Imp pub.

As the city prepares for this celebration, residents should be aware of some disruptions. The long-stay car park at Lincoln Train Station will close from Thursday, May 7, until the end of Saturday, May 9. The short-stay car park will also be affected, closing from 10am on Saturday until the end of the day. Additionally, Castle Hill Car Park will be closed due to the Cycle Grand Prix, further limiting parking options in the area.

Public transport users should also take note; East Midlands Railway has cautioned that train services are expected to be "extremely busy" due to the influx of parade-goers. Fans are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra time for travel, as congestion is anticipated throughout the day.

To ensure a smooth experience for everyone, Lincoln City FC has urged fans to be respectful of their surroundings during the festivities. The club recommends that groups establish a meeting point in advance and stay on the pavements or in designated viewing areas during the parade. For safety, there will also be a no-fly zone for drones, although Lincolnshire Police will be deploying their own drones to monitor the event.

With the entire city coming together to celebrate this significant achievement, it’s sure to be a memorable day for fans and residents alike. As the parade approaches, the excitement in Lincoln is palpable, and many will be discussing their plans for the big day.
